Windows 11 New Quick Settings in 2022

Windows 11 New Quick Settings menu can be accessed with shortcut (WIN + A). This menu replaced the functionality found in Action Center in Windows 10.

Windows 11 New Quick Settings

At a glance, it resembles Control Center on a Mac. Here’s a quick look at what it does and how it works.

Why its important to know all about the Settings Menu

This menu provides easy access to important settings such as wifi and Bluetooth status, adjusting screen brightness, level of volume and many other features.

When using your PC, you’ll sometimes need to quickly change a setting, but you probably don’t want to dig through menus or the full Windows Settings app to change them. In that case, Quick Settings in Windows 11 is exactly what you need. We loaded up Upgrading to Windows 11 | The new face of Windows OS to take an early look.

In Windows 11, all you have to do is click a group of status icons in the lower-right corner of the screen (in our example, Wi-Fi, speaker, and battery) to get to the Quick Settings menu. In the taskbar, it’s just to the left of the date and time. You can also use the keyboard shortcut Windows+A. (which is the Action Center shortcut in Windows 10).

A little menu with rounded sides will appear as soon as you click it. By default, it has buttons for easily connecting and disconnecting Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, as well as a button for Airplane mode, Battery Saver, Focus Assist, Accessibility, and Night Light (which alters the screen’s color temperature).

A volume and screen brightness slider, a small battery charge indicator (on compatible devices), and a quick shortcut to Windows Settings are also included (a small gear).

The contents of the Quick Settings menu can be changed by clicking a little pencil icon in the menu’s lower-right corner.

The icons in the menu will turn grey once you click the pencil symbol, and you can remove objects from the menu by clicking small “unpin” buttons (that look like a crossed-out pushpin).

You can also click an “Add” button to add new Quick Settings controls from a pop-up list. At the moment, these include “Connect,” (which controls streaming to Miracast devices) “Keyboard Layout,” “Mobile Hotspot,” “Nearby Sharing,” “Project,” and “Rotation Lock.” If you add a button it menu will expand.

To exit the Quick Settings menu, press Escape or click outside of the menu box on the screen. Toggling the menu by clicking the Quick Settings button area in the taskbar doesn’t always work, although that could be due to a glitch in the Windows 11 Insider Preview we’re using.
